TEIN Flex installed. first impressions

so I installed everything today and it was very straight forward. There is no alignment or suspension setup yet. I have them set up as close to the to the recommend values suggested by TEIN. My first impression was that the car felt more solid during straight line acceleration and braking. I am not sure what the dampers were set at since the edfc wasn't installed at the time of the first drive. Around town felt a little too bouncy. not to hard though just a little overly bouncy. I have a feeling they were set too soft. Turn in and initial steering response felt a little numb also. The real positive difference i saw was in the longer sweeping corners (exit ramps and jug handles) the car felt more stable going faster with much less roll. I am going to go for a spin right now and play with the dampers. Hopefully a good alignment and corner balance will fix these issues. If anyone has any suggestions for setting them up. feel free to chime in.thanks

here are some pics. After stiffening up the dampers it got rid of alot of the bounce. I still think the suspension needs to be played with in addition to a good alignment.

mine have over 60,000 miles on them and there still in great shape... only way you should get some bouncing is if there adj. to stiff.. otherwise i love them and they last along time..

I can also say being that low, as sugg. by tein you will prob have problems getting the rear camber set.. if you want it stock setting you have to go up a bit..

dont forget these springs will lower in a couple weeks, so drive it for 2 weeks and then check the measurments again and then get it aling.

this is the height you want to be..

Here is my opinion.
Based on your pics your ride height is too low and it threw off the suspension geomatry.

Raise the front and back abour 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch and see how it feels.
Lowering the evo too much will screw up the front roll center.
Our car's suspension works better with a higher roll center on the front, that's why evo's with stock suspension feels sharper than evos with just coilovers with a big drop like your car.

Another suggestion I have if you want to keep your current ride height is...I suggest you get a set of whiteline front roll center correction kit.
This kit raises the front roll center by about 5-8mm and will help a lot on lowered evos.

I am getting mine installed tomorrow so I'll do a review on it next week.
BTW, my car is no where near as low as your car.

I bet if you raise your ride height a bit it will help.

Jersey Dino, glad you go them on the car!

Did you get the adjustment wrenches via Priority Mail?

Your car looks great!

hey bobby, i got them thanks a lot. I am going to raise the car a bit. I just put them in where you had them set. I am going to raise them a bit and mess with it from there. sometime next week I will be getting them setup at an alignment shop. thanks everyone for chiming in. BTW I am not very concerned with having a slammed look. while it does look nice, I am more concerned with getting the car to handle even better then it already did. can this be done without a roll kit? thanks

Yes it can be done.
Proper corner balance/alignment/tires...they all play a roll in the handling perspective.
If you are thinking about getting the whiteline kit, I suggest you get the car re-aligned to get the full potential out of the car's suspension.

Right now my car is lowered about 1 1/4 inch front and 3/4 inch in the back and I can still feel the front roll a bit more than I'd like; hence the reason why I am getting the front roll center correction kit.

Anyhow, good luck with your setup.

Do you have any pictures that we can look at of your ride height? I'm getting my Tein's and EDFC install in 2 days, and I thought I'd get an idea of what a perfect ride height would look like. Thanks
