Ohlins Sportline coilovers now use DFV technology....

Just an FYI to all; Ohlins are now better then ever.

Our latest set of Ohlins Sportline single adjustable coilovers that came in is built with the new DFV (Dual Flow Valve) technology AND is dual height adjustable. A pretty solid upgrade over the last generation. Basically they're like the old PCV tech but on both compression and rebound side of things. Better ride quality, better performance, and ride height adjustment seperate from preload is always nice.

So......heads up.

Hey Andrew, thanks for the heads up. Do these new sportlines still use the helper springs or are these eliminated? How do they differ from the Ohlins DFVs (not the ones w/the external reservoirs, the step down before that)?
Thanks!

The Ohlins DFVs that are pretty much replacing the Sportline (PCV) series since the price difference is only $100. It doesn't make sense to buy the Sportline with the older PCV valving when you can get these for $100 more and they come with the newer DFV valving. These are not the Flag series but are one step below that. They have the newer DFV valving that makes for an amazingly smooth ride, yet can firm up to be super stiff (you can feel every bump). There are no helper springs with this setup but spring preload and ride height are seperately adjustable. The setup comes with 8K (450), 10K (560) springs, front camber plates, rear pillow ball mounts, 1 way adjustability (20 click settings). Now for some pics.

Look at the beefy front bracket that can take a serious amount of abuse ... also seperate spring preload and height adjustability.

I have question, how will these coilovers take the abuse of a winter? Are they rust proof?

Dan in the office has had Sportlines on his STi and goes to college in nasty winter Ohio. No problems whatsoever in about a year.

He actually has them off the car right now to test another suspension, and the Ohlins are pefect.

Are they stainless steel? Also do you revalve them to custom specs or just use out of the box?
