sorry if these are old news/have not seen them

what is the story on the goodrich r1? tirerack is selling, anyone used them yet/cost/ benifit?

 

Newest competition tire from BFG. From what we have seen this is a better performing tire than Hoosier's R6. They have better wear, grip, and warm up period than the R6 also. They are designed specifically as a track type tire not for auto-x (but we expect BFG will come out with an auto-x model sometime soon).

Meets all DOT requirements, has a rim protector, does not need shaving, not intended for street use.

 

Better wear AND grip? That's hard to believe. It's like having a more powerful turbo that spools earlier. We'll see what happens at the SCCA Runoffs and NASA Nationals.
