What are the HP differences between an X running 91 and 93 octane?

I was just wondering how much it brings the power down for those who can't get the 93. Anyone have any numbers?

from what im seeing id say 20-25whp.

although thats just a guess.
im seeing similar baseline numbers, but once the modding begins us on 91 seem to be falling short (obviously). its hard to tell cause different days, different dynos, different tunes/flashes, ect, but i think ive made a good guess

93 allows much more timing advancement where 91 sort of chokes that.

I doubt it's quite that high. I would say 10-15hp difference at most. And again, that depends on the dyno....

could be, im mostly going off ets latest dyno of +107, compared to what i did with the same parts (different factory flash), similar dyno... so i was splitting the difference on the factory flash/octane

I doubt its even that high. I would say 5-10hp at most on a relatively stock X. Look at Cobb Tuning's map notes where they show the difference between 91 and 93 octane is only 2-3%.

This is just one car so just a data point, but here is a difference between 91 and 93, tuned for both (modded Evo 9)

hmmm, well then it's quite a bit more power than some of the guesses have been here. I had no idea really which is why I asked. I just remember years ago reading about Cali's 91 gas that they all seem to hate so I just wanted to know how lucky I was lol.. I guess pretty lucky

Kalifornia 91 is pure crap, much crappier than just the octane number suggests.

Yes, you are lucky.
