Remote Car Starter

I have a fully loaded 2008 Lancer GTS with the Keyless Entry and F.A.S.T key.

I am looking to get a remote car starter for my car this winter. Can anyone recommend a two-way remote starter that works well and has a long range and will work with the FAST key system?

Anyone know how much it is to install the OEM remote start? $500 isn't bad if the install price is cheap.

That is a bit pricey, but does anyone have any information on how well it works, what the range is, if it's 2-way?

i emailed the dealer close to me and they responded "the labor will be an additional $211.00. The part must be a complete unopened kit from Mitsubishi in order for us to install it properly. The parts will also not be covered under our 12 month 12,000 mile warrantee. I hope this helps. Thank you again for your inquiry."

they also said it would cost $630.95 for the remote starter so i was going to buy the one from mitsuparts.com or the one website

wow why would you pay 700 dollars for remote start installed?? absolutely crazy. go to loval car audio shops that sell security, and ask about their Viper systems. their highest priced system is about 450 bucks and has remote start, AND all the features a regular alarm/keyless entry would have....you get so much more for cheaper, and better quality.

I would agree with you on the Viper system except for the fact that it doesn't integrate into the Fast Key System that I am aware of, which may be a possibility with the starter. I for one would not want to go back to having a fob for security, and a fob to get into the car. Defeats the purpose of getting the fast key in the first place.
