30,000 mi Tune up 08 Lancer m/t

anyone done this yet?

from what i've read in the service manual, (the idiot at the dealer would NOT tell me what this tune up consisted of due to the fact he just wanted me to bring it in to them for 400$) its new tranny fluid, clutch/brake fluid and sparks.

anyone got a breakdown on prices for the transmission fluid clutch+brake fluid any filters to be aware of? gear box oil for the m/t?

spark plugs should be fine my brothers 08 es has 60k miles with stock spark plugs, check the coolant, maybe a coolant flush, change the transmission fluid, do a synthetic oil change, brake fluid should be good.

i currently have 38k miles on my 09 gts and have not had to do anything other than oil changes and a coolant top off.

Here's the DIY for 30K service:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...e-service.html

There should be no reason to change manual tranny fluid at 30K, but you can check the level if you like (see the reply to my post).

There is no particular requirement for changing the brake/clutch fluid, but you could certainly do that if you like. I change the brake fluid on my Boxster annually since I track the car. I have not yet changed the brake fluid on my Lancer (purchased July '07 and currently showing 39K miles); I'll probably do that this spring or summer. If you haven't done so already, invest in a Motive Power Bleeder (assuming they have an adapter to fit the Lancer).

Service manual calls for changing coolant at 60K. My coolant level is fine, so I haven't messed with that.

check your front brake pads while your at it. Your spark plugs should be fine. Im at 66k and they are still stock plugs. There is nothing wrong checking on your serpentine belt either. I ended up changing my serpentine belt around 35k since I started to see a few cracks.

I don't know if it will ever matter or not, but I save ALL of my receipts associated with my DIY maintenance. Should I ever need a warranty repair, I want to have documentation that supports the fact that I have kept up with all the recommended maintenance. My service manual is full of stapled-in receipts from Wal-Mart and Autozone for Mobil 1, oil filters, air filters, a set of spark plugs (I have 40K miles), etc.

Following that logic, I would change the spark plugs at 30K (and do whatever else is called for) just to stick to the letter of the Mitsu recommendations. A set of 4 spark plugs costs about $10, and it takes about 15 minutes to change them. Good insurance in my opinion.
