Just got a Evo X today and love it but...

Sup guys I just bought a used 2008 evo x today from Don Herring Mitsubishi in Plano, Texas. The car has 13900 miles on it and I love it but... Ive been cruising today and notice a intermitten squeaky noise coming from the left front of the car while driving. I thought it might be the brakes because when I stop they squeak as well but the outside wear indicators arent even close to touching.. I would pull off the rim and check the inside but they didnt give me a lug nut key..Also I am hearing alot of rattles while driving, mostly going over bumps. Any help is appreciated..... Thanks Tony

Either never didn't seat the pads properly or their is no backing on the pad and is rubbing/squeaking randomly against the piston.

First off welcome to the forum. You will find answers to most of your question here. Most people are helpful, some, well not so much.

The Brembo brakes tend to squeek a bit during light breaking. Nature of the beast I guess.

one thing youre gonna have to get used to with this car is the noise. the squeaky brakes, the dash rattles, the highway drone, it never ends.

turn up stereo and step on the gas and youll forget all about it

Congrats on the purchase. Mine has almost 12,000 miles on it and does have several minor rattles from the dash and door trim. It is possible to take everything apart and put in padding - search there are a few threads on how to do this.

For the brakes if it really bothers you there are several after market pads that make less noise, but also offer less performance.

I do agree with the advice to turn up the stereo and step on the gas - you won't notice the noises as much!

Welcome to the forums! Be sure to check out the NTEC (North Texas Evo Club) section down in the Regional area on these forums. Don Herring is a huge supporter and active member of our club, and we have some awesome meets and opportunities.
Best wishes with the car, a few creaks and squeaks are normal for sure!

The sounds are common in these type of cars. Luckly my Evo has very minimal squeaks and rattles.

Normal for brake squeak.. it's the brembos... anyhow.. take that to COBB plano and get it tuned.. check your Fuel Relay see if that's been changed.. to a green or blue.. but welcome to the darkside
