SST Info

Hey guys,

I have read somewhere that the trannies for the SST are made by Getrag. I found some info you guys might be interested in:

Only time will tell on how well the Evo X SST is made and how much power it can handle.

Good info. Based on the two available dual clutch transmissions listed, max torque appears to be 450Nm (332 FtLb) or 470Nm (347 FtLb).

6DCT450 TRANSMISSION
6DCT470 TRANSMISSION

Guess what else Getrag makes? the Mk4 supra trannies. they also make 3000GT VR4 trannies....those are also rated at ~350tq, and guess how much power they hold? A LOT!

I think the SST tranny will be tougher than we think....

I really hope so, seeing how the MR is the only thing that makes the X worthwhile getting over the IX IMO.

It looks pretty damn tiny. Very cool. Hope good things come from this small package.

I really hope that they underrated TC-SST's torque capacity.

hopefully the TC-SST "evolves" over time and gets quicker/is able to handle more torque

I bet it can take 450-500 WHP no problem.

I wonder what the clutch's life is and how much of a pain it would be to replace em.

If you google some technical videos the technician states that, at least initially, the entire unit must be replaced as a whole.

On to more bad news:

I had a Stealth and the transmission was a weak spot on the car. It was able to easily handle the stock power but didn't handle extra power very well...
