First defective SST?

While this is in the UK it went bad after 700 miles and serves as a good reminder that this is a brand new transmission and it's going to have teething pains.

"just to let you know i am well pi--ed off. i have owned an evo x for 70 days but only been able to drive it for 16 days as 3 weeks ago gearbox electrics packed up on me, and the worst is 60k in 1 year and the dealer and mitsubishi dont give a flying fig. looks like next motor will be anything but a mitsubishi."

Wow, for the 1st time I'm actually nervous.....

I've been following forever, but now that one actually went bad, it's un-nerving. Then again, we have no idea how this guys drives.

I'm not getting an mr ( no stick ) But If you have doubts, I'd wait. Mitsu never had this transmission so if it does break the first year I can beat the techs at the dealer will be lost. Not hating, I would wait.

Its only one story and we don't know all the details yet.
There have been plenty tested in harsh track conditions including
the one by EvoM, and they have all be fine.

Just like all the other problems with the GSR. Seems many dealers lack the know-how to work on, let alone diagnose the damn thing. I know mine lacks. Its the price you pay to get a first year car, most of us are paying somewhere or are going to eventually.

Teething problems. I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan to get a 2008 MR.
A 2009 MR should be fine.

2009 is looking like a better year. Perhaps I'll wait and increase my down payment. Nothing but pros if I do so.

The transmission cannot be fixed only replaced so the techs should be able to do that plus you will have a warranty just don't mod that 11k tranny if your worried

every car manufacturer makes a bag egg here and there. how many have they sold in the UK? This is the only dud so far? We had people breaking their accelerator pedals here, doesn't mean its going to happen to everyone (let alone anyone else ever again). but yea, given all the delays, i'd just wait for the 2009. by the time they are here, the 2008s will most likely still be on the lot at this rate
