So i was drving last friday in normal automatic when my car downshifted inself down to 5th and wouldnt go bak up to 6 if even with me trying to shift it up.... then when it had to downshift to stop it went from 5 to 3 to 1. and when i started goin again it went 1, 3,5 so i pulled over and drove the 20 miles to work without an issue. then it happened again and i brought it to a dealer. And they want me to take my mods off before they can scan my car.

Gotta take-off:

IC piping
Downpipe
Test-pipe

Shouldve taken off the mods first especially with a tranny problem. You don't want them to bS and say things like those mods put more stress on the transmission so your clutch went out. It seems like it could be a problem with one of the clutches due the gears it isn't shifting into. I think if it's not a TCU computer problem you're gonna get a new tranny because they can't service it

 

Happens sometimes to alot of Autos

Try and unplug the battery so the ecu can reset its self for a couple mins .

Yup try that i remember once i was messing with the battery , plugged everything back in and car when it was put in D the car would stay in 4th lol kinda hard to roll off a stand still in 4th .

 

sometimes it will skip gears even in manual mode, I hate this F***ing trans!

 

This seems to be a really common issue, it might be the MAF. I vaguely remember an Evo person having this problem and it ended up being the MAF.

 

I believe reading it somewheres also.... and when i took the battery out i started driving it right after putting it bak in..... maybe the MAF didnt reset?

 

you better get rid of your mods.. i will take em off your hands

I hate to break it to you, but this is the same thing that happened to my car. Once the dealer took a look at it, thats when they noticed they had to replace my whole transmission and they had to keep my car for over a week. Good luck!

 

My trannys messing up to. It's not doing that but sometimes when I put it in reverse, it doesnt go in and the R on the display blinks about 3-4 times then it clicks in like its having trouble.

 

I've had this same thing before. I think it could be that I wasn't completely stopped. Maybe like 1km/h or did wait from my stop before dumping it in R

hrmmm wow thats quite a hand full of people with this problem... i havent yet have this problem... i have about 2k on the car... but i do see that my car love to shift to fast!!! i will go through 1 to 6 b4 i reach 40mph when i am just on it normally...

now my question in how are you driving the car?? b4 it happens after it happens???? i have heard about this problem b4 but it hasnt happened to me yet...
