Cooling nozzles on the SST fluid cooler?

I just had an idea (might be too far fetched, but thought I'd share anyways).

On my Evo VIII I had fmic cooling nozzles. It had auto and manual that sprayed a fan of water onto the fmic depending on the input temperature (for auto).

I wonder if we can adapt these same systems to spray the SST cooler during a tracking session. After all water can disperse heat much quicker than air.

It would be ideal to have the nozzle system reading the temp and spray it accordingly automatically. I wonder if it's possible to adapt one of these cooling systems from the older Evo to this setup.

What do you guys think?

JDM Evo's have the intercooler sprayer system as OEM i believe. Not sure if their is code in the USDM ECU that can control it though.

There is code in the USDM ECU to control the intercooler sprayers, but I want to convert those sprayers to the SST transmission cooler so those get cooled instead. Would be cool and slick.

Hmm. Not a bad idea, I would suggest you to build an beta model and keep the copyrights for yourself

You can probably just buy the OEM intercooler sprayer button, run some lines for the sprayer and it "should" work then

Yah... I think I may try this.

Before I do anymore mods, I want to get a temp gauge on the tranny so i can monitor it though.

The good thing is, with this mod, there wouldn't be any modifying the transmission! No way to void your warranty this way.

ya if your heat sensor runs on your cooler line , and your cooler has 2 windshield washer nozzels atached to it ... it should work ... ( i.e scrap hard for a WW pump and 2 nozzels from some civic lol )
