2010 MR.
9200 miles of fairly aggressive, mostly city miles. During the summer months the car was launched at least several times a week with no problems.
Only mods are a Cobb stage 1 OTS map/HKS drop in.

Wait so how much did it cost you to replace it?

I'm curious about the replacement price too. Did they not cover it under warranty simply because of the other mods you have?

$8,800 plus install (8 hours). I used aftermarket fluid, ECU was flashed, and TBE, all grounds for refusing to replace the SST under warantee per Mitsu. I could win this in court but I did not want my car out of service for months and I did feel a moral responsibility that the failure "might" have been my fault (aftermarket fluid)

What fluid are you using? And have you stopped using it since the failure?

Oh... and did they know you used a different tranny fluid?

One oil analysis and they would have know it was a different oil.

That and the aftermarket SST fluids are a completely different color than Diaqueen. However, I think the new SSP Gold fixes this issue.

Oh yeah they knew, Willall fluid, stopped using it in the new box just to err on side of safety. Actually the Willall did provide for a .2 sec improvement in 60' times at the drag strip (credit where credit is due) due to its heavier viscosity but I see little else to reccommend it over the OEM Diaqueen fluid.

No longer true, apparently, rather than to try meet Getrag specifications and fight Mitsu for approval they have decided to disguise its use. Both Willall and SSP now have formulations that mimic the yellow Diaqueen SSTF in color. If you are comfortable with this strategy by all means give them a try, it does seem that you are less likely to have to make a claim in the first place if you stick with the approved fluids though.

2010 MR-T (SST)
Stock clutch packs
OEM DiaQueen SST fluid
SSP trans Deep Sump
SSP Front mount trans cooler
OEM intake w/dropin
CBRD BBX full Turbo
AMS DP
RRE Rally test pipe
MXP II CBE
DP 1000 injectors
BlaqOps single pump
WORKS tune using OP (cleaned up by Bryan)
Green relay (yeah that’s it, it MUST be a faulty fuel pump relay!)

Oh I plan to to stick with Diaqueen. I can't justify the added expense or risk for a mildly modified RA that never sees the track.
