Just as an update, talked to a Dodson rep at SEMA. They have been running clutches, seals, baskets ect for an extended period of time. Official release is next week. Clutches will bark the tires in second when heated up (greater than 75 celcius)

I also asked about what they have been doing to tune the trans. I was told they currently have an Evo RS in NZ that they swapped an SST into. They have been using ecutek, but are building a new TCU to replace the board inside the SST. This will allow them to control the trans with Motec, "Or other forms of stand alone ECU's". I asked about open source and he wasn't sure at this time.

Exciting news for sure, and this should coincide with my MR buildup currently underway.

Cross posting from EVOX, I was super tired last night, so I kinda jumbled all of my thoughts together.

Basically the Dodson rep stated that the real problem is the TCU. They are more interested in being able to swap the SST into different cars, but replacing the TCU inside the SST will allow more control over the trans. They apparently have been working with Getrag engineers as well. I had asked about the holding power of the new clutches and was told "Getrag built alot of slip into the trans. The Exedy clutches are built to work better with heat in them. The Getrag engineers built alot of slip into the tuning, especially when the trans is cold in order to get heat into the clutches. We want to change that."

I am going back to SEMA today, if anyone wants me to ask anything specific, post up quick. They are open 9-5 PST. Luckily the Exedy booth (where Dodson and Tim Sanders Alpha 12 is located) are right next to the entrance in the main hall.

They also said that they are in progress in building the Trans Cooler which not only cools it but it heats up the trans. This way when the clutch heats up to 75deg C the clutch wont slip. Dodson offers a few clutches. They said the highest number that they will be able to hold is 500ftlb and roughly 700-750ish whp. However if you're willing to get this power you need to purchase a bigger clutch kit which requires you upgrading what they called "heavy duty clutch basket" I will upload a few pics as well and scan the catalogue.
