Slushy Gear Shift - Falling Into Gear?

About 10% of the time now when I am shifting (always sport mode manual) the car will kind of hold the rpm and "fall" into the next gear. It doesnt really slip, it just kind of slushes its way to the next gear with no definitive shift. 90% of the time its just fine, shifts normally and quick. This started happening after I got tuned and I believe the SST tables were modified. This usually happens between shifts from 1-2, 2-3 and sometimes 3-4 and it never happens on downshifts. Could it be because of the SST or anyone have any ideas?

Well, since it started happening after the SST tables were changed... i would assume that is what is causing it. One thing to try, is flashing the GST map (which has tweaked SST tables) and see if it helps. Also, have you changed your SST fluid and filter recently?

Where can this GST map be found? And the SST maps on the ECU, so I assume those are CPRU?

No, there are quite a number of SST tables and CPRU is just a subset of them.

Ye a I sm not sure what maps were messed with and what was changed.

If I somehow loaded this GST map that was mentioned above, would that be dependent on what mods were done to the car or would that work for any SST

Suggest you discuss your issues with your tuner since you mentioned it happened right after the SST tables were tuned.

As far as GST maps are concern, they were released for the RA if I recall. So you can't just flash them directly into your MR. But you or your tuner can see and learn from how the SST tables are setup and apply them for your MR.

I think I want to go back to the stock tables...I will be doing SSP clutch packs, seals, etc. and then re-teach after that so I think until it is broken in, I should leave the tables stock - what do you think?

The tables being as tricky as they are, I don't know if I fully trust them being modified unless it is by someone who 100% knows these inside out?

Since you are going to upgrade your clutch packs and seals, yes, I agree that's a safe approach to revert to stock SST tables.
And yep, you are absolutely right about the SST tables being 'tricky' as changing values over certain range can results in other side effects.

Whats the advantage of running modified tables with the SSP clutches? Surely not everyone who does the clutch packs modifies the tables....

Also, how do I put the rables back to the stock settings? Can this be done with Cobb AP?
I was tuned wirh opensource but have an appt for a retune at cobb surgeline next week...obviously they are going to use the AP. Is there a way they can get the stock SST maps back on there? From what they told me on the phone, they dont modify the tables.

Without knowing exactly what SST tables have been modified by your tuner, it's hard to comment.
As for the Cobb AP, unfortunately I don't have experience with it as I am using OpenSource. But I reckon, it will overwrite your current tune with their supplied OTS ROM.
And if their SST tables have not been modified, then you will have them reverted back to stock after you flash with AP.

I am actually going to cobb surgeline so I am hoping theyre not just going to slap an off the shelf tune and theyre actually going to do some work on the tune. I am also going to have them dial in some injectors so I can get that out of the way.

But can you confirm 100% that the SST tables will be overwritten and not remain at what is currently on the ecu? I was also tuned on opensource the first time...

During my tuning we modified the SST tables to hold more pressure on the plates so that under WOT the clutches would hold the extra torque with higher boost... which is exactly what you WILL NEED to do when you have the SSP packs as I'm assuming you will be going for a bigger turbo, otherwise there's no need for the SSP packs.

When we were tuning in S-Sport I did notice that in Sport mode the gear changes were as you are describing, so I told my tuner and he fixed it right away.
