How long does it stay in that neutral type stage for? Is it just for a split second then it catches, and jerks into gear?

i normally let go of the gas, wait a sec, then give it gas again.
i havnt tried keeping my foot down on the gas to see if it catches because i was afraid of breaking something.
this help?

does your RPM go up like neutral? or just feels like it is in neutral?

jsr426 Nov 18, 2009 04:01 AM

Check your boost levels. Most likely a tuning issue, due to colder temps, or mod changes. The TCU has a safety feature where it releases pressure to the clutch basket when to much boost is read. IE....free rev mode. As bad as it sounds, it actually prevents you from hurting your trans.

ok i see what your sayin, and to jack, the rpm's dont move

lousEVOxmr Nov 19, 2009 05:27 AM

ummmm... ok first of all in what mode are you in .??

lousEVOxmr Nov 19, 2009 05:28 AM

if your in normal or even sport its normal to have a little of slipping ,
i normaly drive in sport or s sport .....

08 Evo X MR Nov 26, 2009 09:59 PM

i drive in normal all the time but always in the manual techtronic thing. i never drive it in auto

lousEVOxmr Nov 27, 2009 07:04 AM

ya when driving in TIP< put it in sport , less wear and tear on the clutch packs ....

Lifting off the throttle between shifts is unnecessary. It's like an automatic- that's how you're supposed to drive it. It's likely the computer is getting confused for a second.

Do you have a reference for the above information? I am not developing much power above stock (~20whp) but I had my SST release in 1st (auto, sport) at WOT today. The revs were around 3.5k and the car went into neutral (though still said "D"), and I bounced off the rev limiter until I took my foot off the gas completely. No codes were thrown.

I had the Mr fell like it went into neutral from a stop... the RPM would go up like you where going to free rev'ing, then if you hold the throttle down. you can feel the clutch slowly engage then go. or you stay at a stop and the revs drop back down then you go.

eithere way annoying all then hell

BTW iput a AP BOv on here and it made the issue worse. i tightend the spring on the BOV now it takes off great. but instead of hearing the BOV vent the air i hear what i think its called (surge) ie.. a fluttering noise from theBOV

So should you not lift up on the gas at all between shifts?
