update, i bought recaro seats for 1000.00 shipped to my house from a evo x MR. so the are leather... I have installed them and they feel great.. somewhere around here i saw that few guys that swapped their seats to a lancer gts had airbag light problem. i do as well have that.. russell do you know how to clear that light.. I went to mitsu dealer they tried to delete the code but it keeps coming back up. any ideas..?? i did not cut any wires for airbag light nor other wires located below the seat, it was simply plug and play.

anyone?

No, Mitsubishi does not have a solution for that. I can tell you that Nissan makes an airbag light delete kit for Z's. That way when people install racing seats they can just plug this into the air bag plug on the seat and viola -- no more light! Im sure someone has figured out a solution to it. You basically need to fool the Computer into thinking there is an airbag plugged in.

Say to the dealer they need to re enter on the drivers side ocm module your vin number the problem is the vin number mismatch the seat you have is registered on the ocm with the original vin number from the car the seat came from and do a reset of the weight sensor.

 

search the answers are on this forum


take the cars to the dealer and have them perform a reset/recalibrate on the passenger side weight sensor and the passenger OCM (occupatn control module). the warning light you are getting is because of a VIN mismatch on the OCM.
