Not sure where this is coming from or going to, but according to a thread on SCCA.com it's mostly targeted at Solo events entrants. I know I don't have an open-face helmet (and my SA2000 full-face helmet is only 6 months old) and really don't want to fool around with disabling my cars' airbags.
