Tire Suggestions

I'm planning for next season and I'm going to be upgrading to competition tires. I'm running a '03 Lancer OZ turbo, and will have coilovers installed by next season as well. The stock tire size is 195-60/15. What competition tire do all you motorsports guys suggest I run that won't break my pockets? What size should I run? I'll be running in SM in autocross, so I won't be able to compete, so I'll just be doing it for fun.

Can you fit 225-width rubber under your car with the coilovers? There is a nice selection of R-compound rubber in 225/50/R-15 sizes, which is only a tiny bit smaller diameter than your 195/60/R-15's. The Toyo RA-1 would be a great choice. They're inexpensive and last a LONG time.

I'm not sure if 225 will fit. Once I get my coilovers installed and lowered to my liking I'll check the clearances with the 205 tires I have right now. I have a bad feeling they are not going to fit.
