I have the harness bar and the schroth 4 point belts. I use it to keep me belted in when I'm at the track taking turns. For sure it's best to have a rollbar or rollcage with the harness or else you will be using your head as the rollbar.
It's easier said than done. But when you are in doubt of your abilities or a certain corner, don't go full out at 100%. Take the corner at 80%.

the Schroth belts are the way to go. New color this year - silver. Looks insane on the Recaro seats.

i know people say not to use a CAGE if you are just in a daily driver (and not wearing helmets all the time) but it seems that a 4-point Roll Bar with a harness bar would be better for a daily driver and certainly decrease the chance of a closed head injury for the front passengers...

Because of the submarining issues I wouldn't use anything less than a 5-pt harness. In which case you would need a new seat.

Well, with the Schroth 4-point, it has ASM technology built into the shoulder straps, so it prevents submarining. Basically, on the in-board shoulder, there is an extra piece of webbing folded and sewn together. During an impact, this webbing elongates at a different rate than the other should strap, causing slight upper torse rotation, which prevent submarining. Its actually patented, and works wonders based on numerous sled testing. So you can get away with a 4-point and not risk submarining, but only with the Schroth belt. Its also why the belts are side-specific, in that you can't install a diver's side belt into the passenger side of a car, and vice versa.

schroth is good stuff.

honestly, theres no point in tracking your car without a 4 pt to keep you planted. When you have to brace yourself against the steering wheel, you're not learning anything. Posture and seating position is the most important thing.

Curious, does schroth sell replacement pieces? only reason i ask is because i purchased the ones for my rsx that had a single hole in the top of the seat... now the evo has two.. I fear one day i may break one of those plastic covers that holds the tightening bar.
