Inside RF tire wear / LSD?
Inside RF tire wear / LSD?
You wouldn't think you'd get the most tire wear on the inside of the right front, but that's where I get mine, especially at BeaveRun. That's where the highest tire temperature was, too. According to the Miata behind me I was spinning my RF through T10, a slow (painfully slow), right-hand, not quite carousel.
I have a mostly stock 03 running -2.8L and -2.4R camber, Espelir ASD springs, and stock rear sway bar (just got the Hotchkiss, but didn't have it at the last event) and RA-1s. Is an LSD something to consider here? The darn 911s get through it much faster with no weight up front.

yes. I had the same problem when autocrossing. Upgrading to a quaife improved the grip, making the EVO handle more like a FWD in that cornering situation. You still get the inside wheel spin, but just not as much.

The other thing, of course, is your toe setting. You don't mention what your toe is like. If you have too much toe out (which is common when you drop a car) then you'll be chewing up the insides of your tires. Some combination of excessive toe and camber is likely the problem here.

Might also be your espiler springs on stock struts.
Both "robispec" cars at thill yesterday that run stock struts with espiler springs would almost lift the inside of the corner front tire off the ground in tighter higher G corners. There would literally only be the inside tire contact patch still on the ground.
All the coilover cars where not doing this.
That CANNOT be good for grip. I think the stock struts with lowering springs cars are running out of travel.

I'll probably hit BeaveRun one more time. I'll try the Hotchkiss on the middle setting and shoot for the same pressures. But I don't have a pyrometer yet so I may not have temps.
Thanks for the info, guys. It is a blast trying to work out set-up! I'm only running 1:11 there, which doesn't stink, but if I can get into 7 right (a blind entry, down hill, off camber, fast right) and get around 10/11 I'd be smokin'!
