Try before I buy?
As we all know a simple test drive is sometimes not enough to get a feel for a car. Therefore I have a proposal for anyone in the Chicago area.
Let me drive you car at a local autocross to try it out.
Now before you flame me know that I am a 29 year old, 6 year veteran and a pretty darn good Nationally competitive autocrosser. I've been an instructor for the Chicago Region and will be the chair person for the autocross school this year.
The number of events I have attended is in the hundreds. Last year I went to 5 ProSolos including the finale in Topeka, I've been to Nationals 3 times, last year in BStock. I placed 10th on raw time but hit a cone bumping me to 25th. I've been among the top 20 fastest drivers in the region for the past 3 years.
I've been to Blackhawk Raceway in a borrowed car, I've instructed with Speed Trials USA at Gingerman Raceway and borrowed cars there as well. I am not hard on the equipment and I know my limits.
What I will offer: I will pay your entry to a SCCA autocross, I have a spare helmet (although its a large one) you may use, I will provide nice numbers for the event, I will give advice with car setup and most importantly give you one on one driving instruction. And if you get tired of the Evo you can drive my Honda S2000 which is set-up.
The only drawback is I cannot make it to the first SCCA event on April 6th due to work. Any other event I plan to attend I am season PreRegistered.
This is a very serious offer that hopefully someone will take me up on.
