Temp gauge questions
Temp gauge questions
Hi guys,
I'm just about to order some gauges (boost, water temp, oil temp).
Here are my questions:
Should I get imperial or metric?
Are the Defi BF gauges good quality and accurate?
Can those gauges be set to give me warnings (light or whatever)?
What water temp and oil temp should tell me to get off the track.i.e. where should the warnings be set?
Thanks for any input--when I get these answers, I'm going to order.
Nick

Also, you guys should check out the epod from autotech industries (ATI)--it's pretty good. It's a steering column dual pod that accomodates 52 and 60 and you can swivel/tilt the gauges.
i'm american, i'm used to american gauges, so i got american.
No experience with the defi bf's, i'm running the defi D's and they work and are accurate just fine.
I believe the bf' can be set, might wanna look at their use here.

Both water and oil temp are opinions. Some will keep it going at higher temps, where others will bail off instantly. I'm normally not over 205 or so with water, and about 260 (125 c) is where i've peaked with oil.
Set yours accordingly.
I have a boost gauge on the column, but anything more, and it's a pain to see, i like to see my tach
