Good Start to the Season here too

Took out the Stock MR today and ran it in STU against last years National Champ Branden Burkhart and his 04 STI. First off though let me say that Branden....is just flat fast. There are a lot of guys here that run nationally with some success but Branden pulled FTD with a Street Tire car running a 33.6. Jerry(my co-driver) pulled off a 35.0 in our IX MR and I pulled a lackluster 36.7. The good news though was that the car was Bone Stock today. All this week were are installing all the new "go fast" handling and performance parts in preperation for April 23rds Regional Event at Heartland Park in Topeka. All in all we lost to the STi but were very excited that Jerry was within 1.4 with a completely bone stock car. This season is shaping up to be a very exciting battle between Jerry and Branden.

Side note...Fastest Stock STi of the day 37.8 hehehe

It was good to meet you in person Jake. You have a very nice car and Jerry is just a phenominal driver, I don't think I have ever seen an EVO driven that way in real life . I wish you 2 the best of luck. Keep us updated on the status of the car when you can.

The stock IX has more oomph in the low speed corners than the stock IIIV has. It really moves.

I'm looking forward to the competition with Branden and with getting Jake up to speed. My goal is to get him where he is challenging both Branden and I.

I figure on this short course with basically 10 manuevers, that suspension will make up around half a second, tires another half a second and power another couple of tenths. Basically, right where we need to be.

The fastest stock STI was 37.x? ouch.

This is going to be great season. I'll enjoy STU, where the car is competitive.

MREVO_KC it was good to meet you. How do you think a stock EVO9 (with a little more low end oomph) will hold up in AS?

Umm, I think with DA shocks, it could compete for one of the last trophy positions. I am more comfortably with asphalt than concrete. Nationals on asphalt this year could help me. I still think the sports cars are the way to go, my pick would be on a C4 vette, with the S2K close behind. The 911 last year was driven very well, if he returns, it will be a 3 way toss up.

I'm glad to have the chance to run in STU, where the car is more competitive.
