Which is a custom size or a size used by other calipers?

The nice thing about Stoptechs is that they use porsche size pads that are "cheaper" and easy to find in many different compounds.

This is why I ask about pad size.

have you tried the Performance friction 2 piece floaters with the PF race pad on track yet?

If you have... please compare!

Get a bit more events on them and then let us know how they are holding up. Thanks.

Yes, Tried the 03's, 01's and 97's with their rotors (Been road racing for over 15 years). IMO 01's in the front and 97's in the rear is a great set up, but, if you want better, the best, try these... And then tell me what you think

Here is some info from the forced performance web site:

TornadoTM Series Calipers from The Brake Man, Inc., are the most advanced calipers on the market today. Improved features that are genuinely different from any caliper on the market. These Patented Calipers, (patent no. 5,515,948), are the strongest, most compact units available in this size.
Constructed from forged billet special series high strength aluminum alloy has 50% greater structural integrity than even a standard billet caliper and over 100% more than a cast caliper. This major improvement in caliper deflection means substantially improved pad life and lower operating temperatures, due to the uniquely designed steel "C" section that resists bending far better than bolts!

This caliper has been tested for over seven years on some of the most demanding cars in the racing industry. Designed by the most experienced racing brake designer in the United States, Warren Gilliland. With over 38 years of design experience including Hurst/Airheart and JFZ, no one knows more about what it takes to stop a racecar. Our technical support and complete product line is the best you can buy!

This kit comes complete with F-4 Front calipers, 12.8" MolyCarbide rotors, SS brake lines and #62 Pads. Total weight savings over the stock components is more than 23.5 lbs!

So these rotors aren't iron? How many pistons? How do they make sure the brake bias isn't screwed up? Different size pistons? #62 pads? what does that mean? What shape pad do they use? Is it a full monoblock? Do you have to take the calipers off to swap pads like Alcons?

You keep giving salesman information. I want the meaty details. Thanks.

Great find... I am telling you... This is it. If you're serious about road racing, that's the ultimate set up for our cars. No compromise.

My quest for ultimate brakes is over, just wanted to share my findings with you guys, but I have learned the hard way. So learn from my mistakes and don't F around... You won't believe it. And also try the brake fluid, cheap and great (changed to BM BF from Castro SRF).

From Ernesto Rocco's post:

Warren was telling you the truth. I am 100% satisfied with my brakes and I could not have won at Thunderhill at the last event without them. Once you get the balance front and rear dialed with great pedal feel then you can get the most out of them. I am on my third season with these rotors and they are still good without cracks. My temp paint says I have not yet exceeded 1000 deg F in temps (with good ducting). The caliper is a forged billet design very strong, very light, with no flex.

The pads are also great, you can get different compounds, coefficients of friction, etc. and are very easy on the rotors. These are the only pads I will use since they don't eat rotors and lasts a LONG time. One pad change all year for me for all the practice and race laps. Amazing.

Regards,
Ernesto

So did you pay for these or where they given to you or comped?

What the hell? I am asking serious questions. Didn't you ask these questions when you where looking at them? I would think you would if you went through all the brakes you said you have. Did you just trust everything they said and went for it?

I'm sorry, you just sound so salesman like. I am trying to cut through the fluff you are spitting out even if you think you aren't. It sure as hell sounds like it.

The reason I am asking you is that you are a end user not a company trying to sell product. Although it kinda sounds like the other way around at this point.
