modified stock seat

Has anyone had success modifiying a stock seat cushion to accept a sub-belt from a harness? Pics, install?

Looking to cut a hole and place a grommet to protect the belt.

I would say get a new seat, I thought of what you are describing, and thought it be easier, look neater to get another seat! Would also like to see photos as well!
