Sequential Shifters!!

anyone using one of these, if so what are your impressions

you still need to use your clutch

The thread starter was asking for a sequential shifter, not a sequential gearbox. This fits that description.

There are a couple companies making them, one of them posted above.

Those Ikeya sequential shifters can you use those on a stock evo gearbox patten or can you only use them on dog boxes?.

Also does anyone know anyone else that makes them?

you can use them on both, but you have to use the clutch when you use it with a stock box.. I'm also looking for more companies

does anyone know if hollinger has a website? i know they make a box with a sequential shifter

I would have thought that you could only use them on dog or sequential gearboxes. Are they road legal?. Does anyone have any piks of them all set up and working?.

Contact 3240 on this board. He had a Hollinger dog box and the Ikeya (sp?) sequential shifter in his Evo. Good luck.

From what I understand they have cams and a ratched mechanism in them that that converts the forward and backward motion into the same shift cable movements you would have with an H-pattern shifter.

I believe a true sequential gearbox has this cam/ratchet mechanism built into it, allowing a simple lever to be used for the shifter.

I have read all the stuff on here about them and it would be a hard decision weither to get one or not. They deffinately have their pros and cons. I guess the only way would be to try one for yourself. But what I don't understand is how you get it into reverse with that other lever? can anyone shed some light on this?
