oh, you know I will... muhahahaha....

not sure about the external mic I got, as I was not sure what would fit/work with camera.

got this mic:
Olympus ME-12 Microphone Noise Cancelling

but it was only $11, so if it doesnt work its not end of the world.

excited to see some clear video/audio.

this one?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006HSBC

Problem with that one is that the design has the mic on the plug which will be right on the camera so getting the mic out of wind will be next to impossible. However, you can get a stereo mini plug extender for it:

it sucks.... I need to get the extra long cable & just put the mic in the trunk of the car.... I've tried 3 different noise cancelling mics in the car.. & with the windows down it just always produces wind noise no matter what.

you just reminded me that I need to take care of this.. thx

hmm.. do you think it's worth it to spend a little more on a better mic? Or do you think that current mic you have would be sufficient when mounted in the trunk? I think it would be cool to have a stereo mic to record cars passing and being passed and having sound coming from the appropriate speaker. I'm looking at this mic.

Razor,

Great driving and great vids.

I need to pick up an I/O port camera mount before my first track event in the EVO at the end of this month.

I have one quick question...

Do you watch the videos for pleasure or do you focus on certain aspects of your driving to improve upon the next time out?

If so, what do you look for and why?

Thanks in advance...

I am really impressed with this cam. It's a Canon Elura 100. Got it on sale at dell.com for $289. Great deal. Shoots widescreen (real widescreen with more pixels not just black bars placed on top and bottom).

Also has line-in vid capabilities so u can use a bullet cam if you want. External mic in as well. I used a powered sony mic mounted in the trunk for that vid. Less wind noise, more engine noise. Wink

I/O port camera mount on my rollbar. has a nice rubber isolator to dampen the vibrations.
so he was holdin back too?

most do it to learn. the camera doesn't lie regarding how clean your line is and if you have a good mic, you can tell how early you are getting back on the throttle. you can also tell how close your mid corner speed is to the limit if you are getting a little bit of tire chatter (i.e. if you are on street tires or R compounds). of course, that is as long as that mid corner speed isn't affecting how soon you can get back on the throttle for a good exit.

btw, i went with your setup razor, and i've been very happy with it.

Hell yeah, that would be cool.. although I dont know if it would work well or not.... testing is really only way to know.

btw - I think the mic I have is good enough.. I just need an extender so I can relocate it to the trunk....
