Track whores with MRs?

Seems like Bryan and I had the same failure, but I'll know for sure after my tranny arrives at Shep. He also is not confident in the 6spd itself even with strengthening but will try every trick in the book to provide me with strong gears while keeping the fluid as cool as possible during road racing. He mentioned that the BGII I was using was terrible for the 6spd, fwiw.

Shep says he builds the AMS road racing trannies, and they are 5 speeds. When they come back for refreshing or after the fluid overheats, he says he never has to replace anything, because everything is still beautiful. Not the case on the 6spd. He would rather me get a 5spd, but it's a tough choice. I love having that 5th gear, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk.
Bryan, I will AT LEAST use the stock fluid, but Shep recommended something called Neo RHD? Haven't looked it up yet...

If I had the money in this point in time I would be getting a 5spd. Its a bit more than just getting a 5spd though because of the shifter, cables, mounts ,etc.
If I break the 6spd again I will for sure be getting a 5spd, or a automatic mustang v6.

IMO, if you break your 6 speed take out out and throw it away. Do not waste your money fixing it, since it will break again. Unless Jon is going to swap gears with dog ear gears, then I do not see how he will be able to remedy a design flaw. All he can do is cryotreat and shot peen the gears in order to give them a bit more strength. But your tranny will break again.
Spend the money on a 5 speed now rather than spend money on the 6 speed and then break it and then get a 5-speed.
