I love how the site says it's a "fast go-kart" It is actually a Norma Sports Racer (think, radical on steroids) the engine is a BMW V8.

Norma also built LMPs for a couple of years, I drove their Norma/BMW at Daytona in the 24 hours.. had we put a shorter gearset in, it probably would have looked a lot like that.

The sports racer in the video was actually designed to be a chassis that you could buy to club race, and if you wanted to, move all the way up to LMP 675 with the same car, just run a different engine/gearbox. They stopped selling cars here in the states, so I am not sure what became of it once I lost contact with the team.

wow, just as this thread came up, last week i was getting out of my complex and i saw a race car that looked like a radical in black, it was beautiful. I was thinking of turning my car 180 degree, race to my house and get my digital camera to take some pictures cuz it was just sitting there, driver's door open and no owners around but then i thought i have to get to my job in 10 minutes so hopefully i'll get to see it again one of these day..... maybe i'll be driving one next time.
I know .

P.S: I wonder if this is how it feels when driving the Buschur or AMS shop car

Honestly.. once I drove the LMP the AMS shop car, and anything else I have driven, feels slow. Thats for the Time Attack shop car anyway, I think the 9 second 1/4th run would be a bit different

The AMS Time Attack car 0-60 on R compounds is high 2 second range, so off the line it kicks an LMP to the curb, and probably feels close to what that Sports Racer does in 0-60. 60-120 is quick but nothing like the prototypes, which because of gearing are pulling better than they do off the line with he tall first gear.

Now.. with the Time Attack car totally unleashed, acceleration might be about the same, with a lower top speed of course, and lower lap times because of cornering, but closer straight line speeds...

It's a straight six built by Amoroli-sport It. Not the judd V-8 you're thinking of. BMW doesn't use the Norma chassis for factory cars.

It's not a factory BMW, it is a Norma M20 sports racer.. not a judd engine but a BMW 3-liter straight 6.. Built M3 engine from what I understand, driver is Alain Castellana.

This is the 2001 LMP 900 with me in it at Daytona, though we had a Mader/BMW V8:
