TCRA doesn't know what track they are running. Typical. If you are an HPDE driver and you want to spend almost your entire day in the paddock, attend this event (if you can figure out where it is). You'll get barely over one hour of track time.

I'll tell you why I hate them. They have way too much going on, way too many cars. They have several race groups and like 4 HPDE groups. If you are running HPDE you get very little track time (like 1 hour and 15 minutes is your whole day, and the beginning HPDE group only got 1 hour at the event I attended). You are just there to help pay the freight for the race groups. Also, the skill level of their racers is very low. My lap times in HPDE were faster than the winner of one of the race groups when I watched them announcing the winners.

Also, the organizers are a bunch of condescending know-it-alls. I actually watched as some old guy who seems to be one of the head honchos as he was lining up cars for a race. There was a driver in a brand new black 350Z that was really nice. The honcho kept waving the 350Z to get closer and closer to the green brick wall, so that the cars would be lined up tight. The poor driver was just following instructions. The honcho kept waving him forward until he scraped the wall with his bumper and got green paint and a scratch/dent. Truly amazing idiocy.

Not only that, I talked to the woman running registration and she was also an event coordinator. I got permission from her to put my Hot Lap Transmitter out next to the track so I could run my timing system. Then I go out to the hot pit lane to put up my Transponder on a tripod and they start yelling at me like I am committing murder or something. I explained I had permission. They just keep up with their superior attitude.

I will never attend another TCRA event. I make posts like these to warn other HPDE drivers who haven't run with as many groups as I have and don't know what they are getting into.

Richard, perhaps a bit harsh and quick to jump at SYM and TCRA? He accidentally typed "Button". That's all. TCRA listed WSIR all these while. SYM even cleared it up with me via PM. Really..it's just a small human error.

I got a feeling you're talking about Amil. It's hard to believe he did that to the 350Z. That bloke is one of the coolest person I have known. I think I run as many events as you Richard (even made a comparison here). I can vouch for TCRA. One of the best events ever. I hate to let ONE incident destroy my outlook of the organizer. I used to loathe STUSA. Think 2 feet from being T-boned by an amatuer drifter back in 2002. These days, I consider them to be one of the best. Life's too short to be hateful.

You see the thing about TCRA and NASA is that it's more about seeing what's out there. You know how much track time you will have before you even sign up. Plus I know TCRA doesn't overcharge for the event either. $125 for open track...c'mon. I enjoyed myself at such events because you learn so much from all aspects of track/race driving. Once TCRA hosted an event for POC and it really opened up my eyes about "club" racing. The way I see it, there is always something new and positive to learn.

If you think TCRA race level is low, I encourage you to try NASA TT. Those pple mean biz when it comes to lap times, which I am sure you will be very competitive.

Btw what's your time at 14A CW?
