GT Live VIR 06
Turbo is custom.. not sure ont he # or something, suspension is Tein, I am sure with custom valving and lots of spring testing. What rates they are are not going to help much unless you are producing the same downforce.
I guess it has the c-west kit on it.. but it is tweaked, the front bumper, and splitter is all custom, and VERY well done. No real rear diffuser, just a panel to keep the bumper from becoming a parachute. There are also some trick sideskirt add-ons that you can see in the pictures.
Other than that they have what looks like a custom, but OEM-based intake manifold, duel element rear wing, not sure what model, or if it even a model and not a custom job.

hey kingkyle... at VIR this past year we didnt qualify... we had a qualyfying race.... looks like the website is converting over to the 07 season info.. so i cant pull up best lap for GT.... but im sure it wasnt much faster then a 58......
i dont see any evo on this bord going 55 anytime soon...... kinda stinks.. cyber evo in a leuge of its own......
also wana say congrats to chad slagg... he moves that civic around road corses pretty dang good.....
jon.. post up some more pics man... i would love to see detailed pics of the cyberevo... i gave it a once over at phenix... but that was before we even built our car.. so didnt know what all to look for...

Leh... I know the Rolex Quali was rained out. I took the time from this years race results. I think the NEC team took the fastest race lap. I dont think there are any other GT cars I could gather a time from. 1:55 is insane....
-Kyle
the normal one.....
ust researching more... the cyberevo has cleaned house in japan for years...... coming over here rite now is like shooting fish in a barrol.....

i duno.... its the normal one...... used at all the big car race events
Just got back from VIR, and must say it was quite an experience. Awesome event with a bunch of track time for the minimal entry fee. I was really surprised that we didn't see more tuner shops out there though. The Cyber Evo was simply incredible. Massive downforce being generated, as the car was developed in a wind tunnel. (Per one of the teams engineers) Well driven, and well developed all the way around. Could it have run quicker than a 1:55? I think it had another second in it which would indeed put it right on GT1 track record times. We went wanting to know just what the differences are, and what we need to make better on the AMS car. As John said, we fought some splitter issues, as we were running much lower to the ground, and ended up redesigning out mounts at the event. (Good job and many thanks to Justin on that!!!) During our only dry session of the event I had a "moment" when the front splitter mount snapped at about 145mph in the kink in the front straight. Course when the front of the splitter is on the ground it abruptly makes a ton of front downforce, pitching the car sideways at speed. Once we redesigned our mounting system the splitter worked fantastic. In the competition on sunday, it started out full wet, and was slowly getting less wet, and by the end had dry lines developing in many spots. We went out in the first session on 235 Toyo RA1's, and ran a 2:15.103 to the Cyber Evo's 2:11.7xx. We were pretty happy with that, and took to the track for the second 15 minute session to try and close up the gap a bit. Well, a half a lap into my first timed lap, I had the left rear blow out just as I was turning in for the last right hander of the climbing esses at somewhere around 115mph. (bigger moment #2). Not entirely sure how, but managed to not go off, and limped the car back to the pits. Cyber Evo didn't go out for the second session. Unfortunately we didn't have a backup rain tire mounted, and decided to throw the Hoosier R6's on for the last session, hoping for the best, but knowing with the cool temps, and only the beginnings of a dry line developing, that it would be a longshot at best. After two laps out, it was obvious that these tires were not going to be able to generate a whole lot of grip. So we pulled it in and called it a day. At the very end of the last session the cyber evo went out a pulled off a 2:08.018 lap. I think in those conditions, we had a 2:12 in the car with the toyo's on it, as all the other Toyo cars were picking up 2-3 seconds from the first session times. The third quickest car turned a 2:23.1 lap.
Many thanks to Martin, Justin, and Jon for all the work this past week, (and it was a lot)
It was a good event, and we confirmed a bunch of things that we need to do to compete at this level. So now GT1 track record times will be the goal, it won't be easy, but we've all been shown that it can be done. Between aero development, weight, and a dogbox, we certainly can see our way to get there.
So where was everyone else?
Mark

The Cyber Evo uses the same turbo that most of the winning Japanese cars use, the same turbo that comes with the Apex-i kit. The IHI RX6 TCW 77 there's a TCW 76 also. The turbo is derived from an older Honda F1 turbo developed by IHI. It's a stainless steel ball bearing center section with massively dissimilar sizing on the compressor versus turbine housing.
Leh,
The Cyber evo went 1:55.4 during the only dry practice session we had. The event results were a 1 hour deal on Sunday morning. It was wet to start the sunday morning finals, and was less wet to the point of having a few dry spots on line start to develop at the end of the session. The three sessions I was referring to were each 15 minutes within that 1 hour time span. Basically we had 15 minutes on, 5 minute in pit lane, repeated three times.
That was the only thing that counted for the official event. So Officially, the cyber evo won with a 2:08.018, AMS evo second at 2:15.103, and Chad Slag, who drove awesome finished 3rd with a 2:23.164, fourth was Element Tuning STI at 2:23.305, and 5th overall was David Pratte at 2:24.306. There were a bunch of cars bent up over the days leading up to Sunday, that didn't take to the track for the finals. The Zerosports STI was having issues all week, and was never running right, and the Autobacs ASM s2000 driven by Andreas Wirth turned a best of 2:28.187.
In the one dry session we ran, the s2000 ran a 2:14.065, so considering who was driving it, I have to assume something was not working right there either.
I also will add that the power of the cyber evo is not it's major advantage. I don't think we are giving up much if anything in that department to them.
All I gotta say is Downforce is a beautiful thing.
It is really obvious when you get to follow it around in the wet.

Leh, as Mark said the competition was only the one session, the track was only dry at one point in the weekend, which was saturday afternoon, and that's when the Cyber Evo ran a 1:55.
I think it can go a secon faster at least. Watching it I think they missed a couple of things on the setup. They have a dogbox of course, and their set of gears was very short, it sounded to me Tarzan was short shifting to keep from spinning the wheels out of Oak Tree, and the AMS car was faster from Oak Tree to the south pits.. however 4th and 5th gear were quick, and the Cyber car was going over the hill on its 162mph rev-limiter, vs the AMS car hitting 157 just over the crest. With a little better gearing, I think the cyber car would pick up some time.
Also on the session I saw, Tarzan was leaving time on the board. He was driving it quickly, and smooth, but not to the edge. Part of that had to do with the cool track temps I am sure, it was dry but it wasn't warm. The mechanics claimed it had a 1:52 in it if the track had been better and he had pushed, but I think it's probably in between.. 1:53ish.
As far as no Evo on this board getting there.. we can get there. We are closer than this weekend's results showed, and we can see what we need to work on. It isn't going to be done on HP and suspension though, it's going to take aero work.
Scorke, we have been curious about the APR wing since we put it on, and had been wondering about its usefullness. There was change through it's range, but not like one would expect, and we know it's a high-drag wing, costing us a bit of speed in a straight line. We went back with the stock wing with the wicker to see what it did, and well.. the APR wing helps a good bit. We have a new wing on the way, which will be mounted and built with more well thought out criteria.
