BW Config 13CCW Video

I ran Buttonwillow config 13CCW for the 2nd time this past weekend with NASA TTA. I was running with the prepped 350Z in front. It was a good time albeit with the pregrid positioning, there wasn't much passing to be done.

Does anyone have experience on that track? Any critical input would be appreciated. I ran a 2:06.1, but I want to tidy up my lines as I know there is at least 3-4 seconds to gain. Every session I improved a half second to a second. I know I need to take a more outside line throught the sweeper before my run on Magic Mountain/Lost Hill. I can also carry a little more speed over the hill or at least get the boost up early over the apex. Mods are mostly RA1s, PFC97s, Motons, exhaust, and flash.

It's a Divx file in 16:9 format. Make sure to change the aspect ratio or it will look a little distorted. Using Divx player, right click on video screen, select video display, select aspect ratio, select 16:9.

Now that I watch it again. I think my problem was that I was just holding the 350Z's pace. Whenever I got closer, I would coast a bit. But when we hit traffic on the last lap and I had room to make up, I ran harder.

barfly, I don't know your car setup but from what I saw in the video there are some sections you could probably take much faster.

The sweeper before lost hills you could take a bit more aggressive stance through there, that was one part where the Z would gain on you alot. This should not be the case with an AWD car. Also, are you WOT through the kink leading to lost hills?

Lost hills you could take faster depending on your suspension and tire setup. Same with Riverside, if taken correctly in CCW is just one huge flowing arch from the entry to riverside all the way through to the bus stop.

Are you WOT through the club corner kink?

Off ramp you could take more aggressivly as well, but again I'm not sure what your tire and suspension setup consists of.

EDIT: Just read your mods above.

You could for sure take the corners I mentioned above faster and you could probably brake MUCH deeper into some corners.

Yeah, the sweeper was a line error. I should have taken a more outside line and I could have had more corner exit speed.

I'm wide open through the kink leading to lost hills. I took lost hills the best on the last lap when trying to catch back up to the Z. It was interesting as the back end got very light as I applied a lot more throttle and a lot earlier.

No, I come off the gas at the club corner kink and sometimes brake ligthtly. Do you take that wideopen?

I thought I did ok through riverside. My speed through there would vary a bit, but the line and speed felt ok. Once I have a cage installed, I might push that area a little more.

The braking issue, was a little bit of a problem as after pitting, my brakes were squeeling and I had 0% left on my inside front pads.

Thanks for the input.

Yea that line takes time, put your LSD's to use there.

It's been awhile since I have been at bwillow but I think I might lift a little to get the car set up right before entry then get back on the throttle at WOT. I know I for sure do not brake, although the last time I was at bwillow I had a bit less power then I do now.

Yea, there is a reason event organizers say to take riverside at less then 90% without rollover protection. I see the race prepped cars just absolutley rip through there. My rollbar gave me a bit more confidence but I know I don't take that corner ***** to the wall still. Maybe in a race car with full cage, hans, etc I would.

Ooh, that's not good.
