When you have 200 more WHP and 2 inches more tire than other cars, you SHOULD kick their butts if you can drive at all.
thats why i've gotten into nasa tt this year

to this day I still am not pushing more than 300-320 to the wheels... hopefully by Friday I will though

so yeah, it IS POSSIBLE to win with less than 400+hp.....

I aint knocking NASA TT's.... its all kinda the same to me...

I'll be happy to get 300 to the wheels...I compted all last year on 290WHP and 265 Torque (on a mustang Dyno) and did fine in TTA. More power is always good though! I'll be interetsed to see whether running 245-40-17 Hoosiers will be faster or slower than 275 RA-1's or NTO1's though....

I know the feeling man. I turned 300 on a dynojet. I'd love the extra power, but most of the "attack" events, throw you into a higher class than you really are (275's).

I look forward to seeing it happen. You teamed up with Robi and GSC is a great combo. I was with GSC and told them about all the stuff I plan to do this year at a high level, but I don't think they were convinced. I have not yet "done it" like you, so I'm a risky prospect, and they didn't like that my GSC cams made no power, haha (not their fault, just my car).

that will be interesting.. sometimes you think you know it all untill you start testing.. then the surprises start rolling out. Robi has been in situation where smaller rubber actually yeilded him faster lap times.... so sometimes the $50k super big turbo/stroker/315's set up is not always fastest....

I Know guys tat have literally put in over $100k into their cars to only be slower than $30k set ups..... its not about the actual money.. its what oyu do with it.

yeah, understood 100%. I'm not 100% convinced that it doesn't ring true even on the tracks i'm running. Most of the quicker times, ended up on cording 255's. We'll see though.

Right on. I've got a great sponsor this year in GST motorsports, and they are going to help me get the car dialed. I will also be using G2X Data logging, which should help with concrete feedback regarding set up.

Spoolinjk, where are you out of? If you're in the northeast I can suggest some clubs.

CART CT.
COM SCC
SCDA

All do time trials.

Johannes, I'm loving that avatar pic!

That's more common than you might think, especially in sprint races. If you have too much rubber on the road, it can take too long to come up to temp. That gives you suboptimal grip in corners for the first few laps. And tires that are too wide can cause lots of drag on high-speed straights. That can slow you down at places like Mosport, the Glen, and Sebring.

There's a lot more to setting up a car for road courses than just slapping on the widest rubber, biggest turbo, and stiffest suspension!

255's seem "about right" for the typical Evo 7/8/9 track car.

Good to hear....245-40-17 hoosiers are about the same size as most R compound 255's..

yes, but the obvious data on solid state cornering is hard to deny. It's definatly playing with sizes, etc.
