^ right I agree with not seeking warranty coverage after poppoing a motor with 30 PSI of boost.

I just read the warranty book again, and I suppose they could call HPDE "misuse," but that I think would be a stretch, especially given the marketing and "supercar" image which MItsubishi actively supports.

Something I had forgotten was that there is an arbitration clause in the warranty. I guess that could delay things if anyone really wanted to drag their feet.

I will strike up a conversation with the service guys this week when I go to have all the fluids changed, and my brake-fluid flushed with motul.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Its your first HPDE. The last thing you need to be concerned about with a completely stock Evo is a drivetrain failure. The odds of it happening are very very slim. Dont even worry about it, focus on learning you will be getting lots of info that you will be trying to process as driving on a track will feel suprisingly different from doing so on the street, even backroad twisties.

Even if something were to happen, its very difficult to determine beforehand what a dealership might say. You will get lots of advice and personal anecdotes which are useful and great but I think what you will find that they reveal is that there is little consistency across dealerships (and insurance companies) on warranties (and insurance). It will just depend on who you go to. But again, driveline failures are the last thing you should be worried about. Fresh oil and brake fluid and just focus on learning and having a great (and safe!) time.

Your biggest risk at your first HPDE is not damage to your car's body or mechanicals. It's getting "hooked." Then you will spend all your money and time as a "track *****". Take it from one who knows.

Any type of 'Abuse' from the owner probably voids the warranty from

Have to find a good dealer that will work with the owners and aren't super tight a## about mods. etc.

Also there is a reason why after a 'track incident' the vehicles are pulled outside of the facility to report as normal accident.
