So it's almost that time again. Time for those crazy people to go driving around the country for a week running time trials at race tracks along the way.

This year One Lap of America (www.onelapofamerica.com) heads west from it's starting point in South Bend, IN, making stops at a paved oval in Plymouth, Indiana, Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa, then on to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, Pueblo Motorsports Park in Pueblo, Colorado, Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Tulsa Oklahoma, O'Rilley Motorsports Park (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park) and then Mid-Ohio before coming back to South Bend.

At least two of us from the evolutionm.net forums will be in the event. Leh Keen will be piloting the GSC Motorsports Supra, and I will be in it as well.

I will not be in the AMS car however, AMS has opted to take the year off with their Time Attack car being pretty much only racetrack duty only. This year I will be driving for Mongoose Motorsports out of Ohio in their brand new car, a Corvette GTP Replica.



It's powered by a 505-horsepower Chevrolet C6 Corvette engine, and sits on C5 suspension and Bilstein Coilovers. It isn't AWD, and the engine is in the back, but I still think I can have fun. ;-)

From the Evo community Tony Morris is listed on the entry list driving a 2005 MR, and from talking to him he hopes to have 450whp and run on E85. If things get together in time, AMS will be doing the tuning.

There are a slew of Subarus going, including an Impreza 2.2L with a built STI drivetrain. Things will be interesting.

lake-effect-racing will be following again, along with Car&Driver.com and I will have an (I hope) daily blog up on www.racerjon.com

Hopefully even without a shop effort from AMS you guys will tune in and cheer us on.

I went to the two day class at BeaveRun with no idea that I would like the guys who were running the event as much as I did. As a result I am thinking about giving it a try next year. Good luck, keep us informed!

Darn, I'll be Event Master for a local auto-x in Council Bluffs, IA on May 6th which 5-10 miles away from Mid America Motorplex, IA ... Would have really liked to have attended ... Goodluck to Jon and Leh ... Knock 'em out boys!
