intake is fine for stu.
so bsp would allow me to run a 18x9.5 wheel? would i really be just as fast if i went with the coilovers, adj rsb, 18x9.5 and R-comps? I can get the same upgrades as the warrtalon/buschur packages for a lot cheaper with just different companies. Im trying to build a car that will be decent for autoX but still have the things i want it to have. I really want an exhaust but i guess i could just go with a catback/testpipe for now to get the sound then get a DP, mbc, fuelpump, and gauges later.

Wow, this thread went way off track in a hurry.

There are specific threads in this forum about BSP and SM builds.

In BSP/SM you can run any wheel/tire size you wish basically. You can even modify the fenders with flares to accomindate even larger sizes.

If you plan on running BSP/SM, for tires definitely skip the 615s/RE-01Rs and go straight to at least the Kumho Victoracer. Running a street tire in those classes is worthless. Trust me, tires are the #1 factor that will allow you to go faster (besides seat time) above and beyond any power/suspension mods. After that, next figure out the supension and then finally after all that add the power.

seat time for sure is best. i actually might get to go to the skip barber highperormance driving school this year which we be sweet.

the thing im looking at is I cant afford a $1000 set of rims and a $1200 set of tires + coilovers and then the performance stuff that i want for me. at the moment its not a dedicated autox car. I want a setup that will be decent enough to have some fun in but still have the perfrmance i want. all I want is 300whp at this time.
PIC coilovers - $1500
maybe the warrtalon/buschur stg 1 - 1600.
tires about ~600-800 that puts me right at my budget.

later on like way down the road i want to switch my evo to completely dedicated autox SM car that gets babied and trailered everywhere but right now i just want decent performance.

Sounds like a good plan. Enjoy the sport.

If you are just learning (new to the sport) I wouldn't suggest running on r-compounds. They will make your times look better, but will more than likely mask bad habits.

You'll get tons of mileage out Azenis or the Bridgestones and you don't have to bother with swapping tires. Hell run A046 takeoff's or RE070 takeoffs if you want. No need to spend tons of $$ when you're skill level isn't there.

yea. for tires what is a recomendation for a decent set. i was looking at either the 615s or the nitto nt555s. both in 255/40/17 what about a 265/40/17 would that be a good size or too big for the stock wheels? sidewall is pretty close to the same size. i know i would need to roll my fenders as well with those. in that size i could get the Falken GR Beta FK-451. im not looking to win any autox cause i know im going to be out classed but jsut have some grip and have some fun. like i said eventually i want to switch the car to a fully prepped trailer rig.

Falken rt 615, Bridgestone RE01R or Yoko Advan Neova AD07. All are good street tires and I think available in a 245 width and 17" diameter.

If you run that width you can then at least compare your times to other guys in STU to get a benchmark.
