quick auto X class question

what class would I be in with

stock rims with street tires ( kdw2's in 245 40 17 )
turbo kit ( 35r, I know its to big, its coming out asap for a 50trim or green )
coilovers ( whats the best coilover for 1500 or under. pic/pure? buddy club? tein? etc. what spring rates? what about a USED robispec KW's ? )
cams
ems with wideband
slotted rotors
hawk pads
pump gas
braided brake lines
exedy clutch
exhaust
boost controller

now what class would I be in with I put on

R compounds?
canards?
front splitter?
bushings? ( which bushings cant I use so I dont goto a different class )

sorry for the noob questions. but I went to my first auto X yesterday an had a blast, I took 3rd but I want to be more competitive!

thanks in advance

The turbo upgrade alone puts you in SM as well as the EMS, so the rest doesn't really matter. It will be the same regardless of the tires, suspension, aero, and other stuff. There are some extreme things that could potentially put you higher than SM, but that's pretty rare for an Evo.

You will need fat DOT slicks and a nice suspension to compete in SM.

robispec KW's be good enough? or are you talking ohlins, motons etc? I have 5 years of bondurant racing school under my belt. how do you think I won against guys with R comps, coilovers

yesterday I had, 35r, eibach springs, stock struts, stock sway, an kdw2's an I took 3rd.

1st was race prepped sti, 2nd race prepped evo, me, race prepped evo, an race prepped STi again, they were blown away on how I could keep the 35r in boost haha

Was that based off raw time or indexed time? If indexed, then what class?

Yea Robispec KWs will be good enough, you can also check out Muellerized coilovers. Ohlins and Motons are great too but have to be properly setup.

I find it hard to believe you have 5years of bondurant racing school under your belt but only did auto-x for the 1st time recently. Most of the times people do auto-x before moving to track days, HPDEs, etc but there are always exceptions. Instead of comparing cars that were prepped, I would recommend you compare yourself against the fastest auto-x drivers in your region as that will tell you where you truely stand, IMHO.

If you can keep pace with fast cars on race tires and suspensions while driving on stock suspension + street tires + huge laggy turbo, then you should be able to take podium at Nats this year with a full build.

I live 10 minutes from road america here in Wisconsin, my parents an grandfather are donaters an have been for the past 12 years. Im there every track day an open course for the past 8 years in my Z06 an my fathers 911 an I also help teach in skip barber racing school key word HELP, its a voluntary job. so in my eyes I thought AutoX looked kinda stupid till I tried it for the first time yesterday. a lot of fun for only 30 bucks. kinda understand now?

the 2 top drivers came to talk to me after the awards an asked where I was from, how did I learn to drive etc, once I told them my car mods they were blown away that I was keeping up. I was alittle over 2 seconds behind the leader, with diff turbo, suspension, an r comps, I can be 2 seconds better than him in my eyes!

I never coned in all 6 runs. as for the car set up. its PRETTY much stock. only thing is eibach lowering springs. which was a pretty bad combo with the stock rear sway. I got a lot of push. but I learned to deal with it. first run was a learning run with the car. ( got it close to 6 months ago ) 2nd, pushed it hard to learn its limits of where the car stands now. then took things from there.

I wouldn't go that far. Beating crappy drivers in prepped cars does not equate to podium status at nationals.
