ams owned crawford

I always wanted to see the two go at it. And finally we know that the evo is stronger in every way than the sti.

AMS was giving a better showing at Miller Motorsports Park, as well.

The Crawford car is very well driven (by Tanner Foust), so there's not much there. To be fare to Crawford the AMS car is a more developed and serious TA car. It weighs in about 300lbs lighter than the Crawford car, has more HP (but less torque) and a more developed suspension. That all adds up to a few seconds a lap all other things being equal.

I just wonder how fast the AMS car is compared to the Cyber EVO and the like. Tyler in the JIS Silvia just beat the Cyber EVO's record at Button Willow and we beat the JIS car at California Speedway so theoretically the AMS car is right there. I hope the Cyber EVO makes a showing at one of these events so we can have a genuine shot at it.

Overall in Japan and here it's seems to have been proven that EVO's are ultimately faster than STi's whether out of the box (stock) or modded to the max. EVO's generally have more HP potential and a better suspension platform. It will be interesting if Cobb ever gets serious about their carbon car, it obviously has the potential to be very quick (if the specs are to be believed). It has a flat six in it though which is a bit of a stretch from an "STi" (though it may or may not be legal depending on the particular TA rules).

No matter what the other guys do though the AMS crew has a big head start in development (in no small part due to the fact that they can fabricate anything in-house and hit reliable very high HP numbers) and when TA2 comes out it will be a big leap up the food chain, maybe HKS EVO beating material

Both Tanner Foust & Russ Warr are great drivers for Crawford....

I'd be curious to see what kind of lap times you & the revised AMS ta car will throw down at buttonwillow.... that is the real benchmark in so. Cali I think.. atleast from a drivers perspective.

Cyber Evo is coming back to US..... Not exatcly sure when...

You guys coming out for the Super street thing?

Hey Nils, when we ran a California Speedway Tanner was over a second quicker than Russ (super guy just not as quick) so bare that in mind when comparing lap times with the Crawford car.

I haven't run at ButtonWillow, it does look like fun (in you're nicely lose EVO ). Is the Super Street event the November 7th one(?) on a Wednesday (which is odd), if so I think we're doing the Laguna event the next weekend so we might swing both (if it makes sense to the AMS crew).

If that is your logic they both got owned by the Factor X's NSX then!! Because AMS's car is stripped to the bone and Crawfords isn't far behind while the NSX was full interior and A/C and was what 2 seconds off there times with the most G's pulled and still 130mph traps.

I couldn't wait to read the issue when it was posted that AMS won. Then I was reading Nsxprime and how there full interiored A/C car was right there, but I figured the gap would have been huge. To me the most impressive car in the bunch was that one. To pull those times at amost 3000lbs and have A/C, radio etc still says something about the a 15+ year old platform.

Im not sure when the super street thing is.. I just know that will be the next big TA at buttonwillow...

Yeah, Tanner is faster, he better be.. he is the pro

Jasil - Factor-X NSX is very impressive.. it even has a amp & 10" sub in there.... I know the owner, street driven car.... Billy the kid is pretty good shoe too.

Crawford knew what they were up against but from what I heard they were a little cocky going in. Put up or shut up should've came to the party with a little more.

I don't like excuses or justification. If you want to penalize yourself thats up to you. However when you loose it isn't ammo for an excuse session. Your going to a competition, it will be in a magazine, you know the rules, so build the ***** to hang with the competition.

You clearly look at things different than I do. AMS won hands down, but if a full interiored car with A/C etc is only losing by 2 seconds that is more impressive to me than a fully stripped well sorted TA car beating a full street car by 2 seconds. Follow me? You have to way thevariables and make a judgment IMO.
