day 1 of local autoX

well...as far as my runs go...****ty..i tried full stiff on the hotchkis sway for the first time and that was just a bad idea, too much rotation. Also my 615's didnt work for me today. It was a good 110 on the track, and im sure my pressue was all over the place.

btw, this weekends course was a 3-4th gear course, we clocked a few cars going 106+mph. I was in 4th alot myself. Ill have more pics tomorrow evening, if my sunburns dont kill me

I didn't think SCCA autocrosses allowed speeds that high. I've never been higher than 3rd, and that's only for a BRIEF moment. Hitting 100+ in an autox is a bit nuts - that's like a road course, which has a whole different set of safety requirements.

anyway, those are some badass cars. Was it a special event like a divisional? I'm guessing so, since you said "day 1." We had day 1 of our 2-day Colorado Divisional today, and I tried going out with 0 changes from the street while using my worn RT-615s along with all my power, aggressive suspension/alignment/spring rates, but it didn't work at all. I wasn't quite good enough of a driver to keep pace with the two drivers in a supercharged, V710d EG hatch (civic). I thought I could take them on street tires, but the RT-615s were pretty much useless on my setup. I will bust out the 285 V710s tomorrow and try to make up the difference for the win. It was in the high 90s here, so I imagine you had the same issues if it was 110 there.

Can you find out who the driver(s) is of that yellow SM BMW? I'd like to find out if that's one of the big dog SM competitors at Nats this year.

Ah, good. I was hoping there weren't too many others out there looking like that.

Yah, Vic Sias. Bob Tunnell, his nemesis, was at my event today, but he wasn't driving the old SM Bimmer.

Damn. I wish those kinds of cars would show up at my local auto-x's.

And 4th gear? Sounds more like a small RR track rather than auto-x. Awesome

http://www.americanauto-x.com. It's not a SCCA sanctioned event

That's Vic Sias.

Some really nice iron out there--great pics & thx for sharing

We run some test-n-tunes on a concrete runway down here w/ my Vette club.
We see some triple-digit (+) speeds as well...

took tire pressure to 38~, adjusted sway bar, car was alot easier to control. My line was still a bit too aggressive in spots so my times suffered, but overall i did much better than yesterday. Heres a few pics my buddies gf took..so dont expect quality

Why is that course worker sitting down? She's also looking away from cars that look like they're heading toward her.

Now, that could be an ugly situation...

First off there must be some money in Modesto.

4th gear...speeds of 100+ at an AutoX. That's crazy. I've been down to KC to AutoX some of my previous cars and got into 3rd gear in my old STi. Now that was fun. Fastest I've been in the old STi was 115-120, but that was at a track day here at MAM.

How did that guy get a Noble titled in Illinois? Crazy

To anyone that knows more about the M400, I might be crazy but doesnt it look like they use the exact tail lamp as the newer Vipers?
