alignment tool

Anyone have a particular type of alignment tool they swear by? I'd probably prefer the 3 point style as opposed to the magnetic bubble version.

actually string works well for setting toe. You need some standard green trash bags (to let the suspension settle)

as for camber, longacer has some good digital camber gauges and toe plates.

my absoulutely favorite tool for setting my alignment is the perfectly flat garage floor that I don't currently have....

Cool

I use this one for camber:

and these for toe:

I've seen some nice laser units, but haven't had the chance to use them yet and they tend to be more expensive.

those toe plates do work, but they fail when you want to insure that the front and rear axles are parallel to each other.

That is where the string method works better than these toe plates.

Agreed... The plates are normally used just for minor at track adjustments (after things have been set on a real alignment rack), but the laser ones I've seen used provide that rear to front alignment so that will be my next chassis setup purchase.
