So... Looks like the FAA approved the latest plan to re-develop catsle rock AFB. As a result, all the motorsports events have been canceled.

no Atwater Pro-solo,
No Norcal divisionals...

The Fresno SCCA autocross chapter is kinda screwed.

Currently the SFR region is trying to relocate the events to other venues, but it's too early to tell what's going to happen.

Wow, that bites. I've never run at Atwater and I was making it a point to head out there this season.

 

Sounds pretty typical unfortunately.

The northeast has been in a crazy state of flux the past few years with sites. Many clubs have been forced out of sites and are left with nothing. I always keep a stack of directions to various sites in my glove box, last year I went through it and it was rather depressing the number of sites which are no longer available. It's easily 6-7 sites in the last 2-3 years.

so it looks like we found a local area for the divisionals.

it's very senic (right on the edge of SF Bay with a perfect view of the golden gate bridge)

the surface is adiquate, and they have arranged for camping privleges on site.

no word on the pro-solo as of yet.
