racing harness backing plates

I'm going to mount a 5-point harness in my Evo and I'm wondering what others are using for backing plates for the lap belt connections (shoulder harnesses will be wrapped around the roll bar). G-force sells backing plates, but I'm not sure about other sources.

Thanks!

Schroth makes 4 points that install into the rear seat belt bolts and the front lap bolts. No need for harness bar, and at a 45 degree angle, you dont have to worry about compressing your spine if your seat comes loose in a high speed crash!

Or so I hope . . . . .

Are you building the car to a rule book? If so, does the rule book tell you what the mounting requirements are for belt anchorage points? Obviously a rule book trumps everything.

If you just need a good guideline, then here is an excerpt from the FIA rule book regarding seat anchorage points:

- Each anchorage point must be able to withstand a load of 1470 daN, or 720 daN for the crotch straps.
In the case of one anchorage point for two straps, the load considered will be equal to the sum of the required loads.
- For each new anchorage point created, a steel reinforcement plate with a surface area of at least 40 cm2 and a thickness of at least 3mm must be used.

I attached a not very good picture of the supplemental diagram.
