Maine Forest Rally 2003, updated with Videos

Here's are some pics from the Rally taken by myself, yycools, and some friends from focaljet.com.

Team Mitsubishi invited the New England evolutionm.net members to a pizza party/raffle the first night of the rally. It was quite awesome to get a chance to talk with the drivers and see the cars being prepped for the next day. All in all it was a kick-*** weekend.

Here's the link to all the pics.

Sorry, the zip files are too big, if anyone can suggest a place that will host .avi files, please let me know.

I've only got one pic:

Hey Emulous,

Saw a nice red Lancer Evolution parked in the upper lot before the bridge going into Rumford, parked next to a silver one, during the Parc Expose. Yours? It looked good, regardless.

Glad you enjoyed the event. No unplanned excitement for us, though we did enjoy the battle with Paul/Jeff on Saturday afternoon. Wild result, to say the least. From our perspective, the event was fantastic -- the workers were phenomenal and it was great to see so many spectators out in the woods. And the roads were F-A-S-T...

I spoke to Arlen, while we were waiting to transit out after the spectator car accident. He arrived just after the accident, and said that the spectators were shaken up, and had some injuries, but were going to be ok, thankfully. Another reminder to drive safe out there, yeah?

Cheers,
- Christian

Christian,

Yep, that was my six week old Red EVO with close to 7K miles on it, so obviously I'm enjoying it. The silver one was yycools that I was parked next to. It's good to see you on evolutionm, I'm really impressed with how "grassroots" team mitsubishi is, it really makes a difference to us sitting in the forest watching. I've definetely got the rally bug now, my first rally was the winter maine forest rally last year. I'll definetely be keeping my eye on you and your drivers in the future. Great job and congrats it was an awesome race and can't believe how close it ended up. As I was heading out on Saturday, the worker flagged me into the last checkpoint in Rangely, he was kinda embarrased when he realized his mistake, but it made my weekend.

Pete,

Thanks for the link to the pics, i wish I had that kind of talent and that kind of equipment to take those type of pictures. By the way, great name for your company, I got a nice smirk seeing that.

Heh, the site name totally came from a diff't source. It involved an Alfa Romeo Milano rally car which slid off the road into the mud the first night my friend bought it. Then we shoved sticks & branches (limbs) under it to try to get traction. That was the first time it was on a limb. Secondly, Milano spelled backwards is on_a_lim(b). So there you go!

By the way, I posted a page with some wallpaper sized images.

Pete, love the shot, but don't show it to management!
"Hit any embedded rocks?" "Umm, no?"

I'm traveling this week, but as soon as I am home (with broadband) I'll check out all the pics!

Cheers,

Emulous,
Your story of being waved into a control w/ your red evo is hilarious(from my perspective at least)! Hope you don't mind me sharing that story. Great to see all the evo's and fans out there!
