Where does one purchase snell2005 helmets? I looked at wal-mart and ebay, but was wonder what my other options were. Looking to spend less than $200.

I bought my helmet at a motorcycle/atv store for around $150. It's M2005 not SA2005 though.

Almost all track days will require an SA2005... We bought our first 2 from a store in Vegas that sells a bunch of car stuff for 200 each. My dad bought a really really nice racing one for some insane amount from online later on.

Don't get M rated, that's just stupid, there's a very good reason most track days require SA.

on-line helmets?

I don't think there's any way I would buy a helmet on-line: there's no way to try it on and I don' t know what the return policy would be for a "soiled" helmet RMA. Buying on-line shoes, is one thing, buying something protecting your brain is another.

Call these people up and see if they can help you; if anything, they'll point you to a local shop so you can get a good fit.

Good luck!

When I first brought my helmet I got an M2005 pyrotect helmet and was only planning on autocrossing. Now that I am starting to do track events I wish I would have spend the extra 150 and got the same helmet with an SA2005 rating.
