First Solo Race

Im new to this so I just wanted some opinions. This next saturday I will be participating in a solo race event sponsored by the scca. I have no previous racing experiance but I feel im a decent driver. I have the confidence to do well but I know going around a track is a lot more different than doing drifts around parking lots and stuff. So do you guys think I should go practice first somewhere or do you think I should use this event as a practice and progression of my racing skill.

Going to be racing a stock evo 8

Use the event as practice, you can't practice unless you are at the venue where they are running. Don't get upset if you get your butt kicked, you most likely will.
Listen to the instructors and just have fun. Becoming a really good driver takes a LOT of seat time.
