Worst case, I will buy a busted bumper and throw it on for auto-x use and call it a day, ya know? But, I wanted to know what people's experiences were and if there is anything I should do and yes, the bracing to body idea came out of it. I talked to Peter at APR and he encouraged doing that as well...

chrisw - you are right. the SM Evos at Nationals last year (esp the red one that said showtime on the side) was running a ginormously huger huge ricers wet-dream wing, I am assuming he believed it served a purpose! The E36 M3 was running a HUGE wing as well.
A lot of people will tape up their bumper with painters tape in order to keep the scuffs at bay.

I just clay bar'ed some pretty good cone marks off this weekend and it wasn't too bad.

i had a metal undertray and there was no visible damage after a full season...

Just out of curiousity, has anyone done any dataloging and GPS telemetry to see if those wings and splitters make a real world difference at auto-xing speeds?

Well most of this season I have been driving like a p!ssy so after 6 events or so I think I have only tagged 6 cones total. BUT bug and tar remover is so very good to rid the transfer from the cones.

My mr2 was missing a few pieces of undertray plastic tho (doh).

Alot of guys will use the blue 3m painters tape. But I think it increases drag because I never seen a fast car using it for anything other than novice numbers
