Did a quick static load test. Put what I had laying around on it. Heavy jack stands, flywheel and clutch, and a chop saw!

Then added some tufting to go look for the angle of attack where the wing stalls. So far so good, I didn't have enough time to do anything past the level to ground test for now.

Yeah, it's boring now, I need to increase the angle of attack and get it stalling.
Bruce - I was out for about 5 mins on Sunday, that's it. WSP must of had other reasons. For whatever reason I never get pulled over in the EVO. I've been out tuning the car and will be sitting on the side of the road making adjustment on the laptop, with the numbers on the side of the car - and cops drive past me all the time without even a word. Now I'll probably jinx myself.

Nice downforce thread going on here!
Since changing the angle of the wing by only a few degrees can alter the downforce, would it make sense to somehow make the base of the wing adjustable by increasing the forward angle as much as 5* at the rear of the base where it attaches to the trunk?
I have the SSS Evo X wing and for larger tracks where high speed stability and extra downforce might be beneficial. I was thinking that creating an angled spacer to raise the rear mounts about 1" would net the ~ 5* that seems to be a reasonable goal. I would of course zero in on the exact measurements before attempting this type of mod but it seems straight forward enough and should work fine assuming the mounts are made strong enough. The wing itself could also be raised closer to the roof line if that also makes sense when desiging the spacer.
Has anyone attempted this or tested the wing before and after such a change?

Does it block your rear view? I hated that about my stock GTC wing. That's why I had some custom risers made so that it is at the roofline. Really hard to manage any GT3s in the rear if you can't see 'em. I even have a broadway convex rear view and it really sucked to have that wing in my rear.
Cool, looks good! I think you could shorten the tufts and perhaps use thinner yarn (if you can still see it). The aft-most should not extend behind the trailing edge of the wing. Looks like you've got some sort of disturbance going on about 2/3 of the way to the tip, perhaps a vortex/separated flow from the shoulder of the roof. Not much you can do about that.

I picked up a vinyl plotter so I can create graphics for my car. It's a tool I've almost bought a handful of times over the last few years - and I finally pulled the trigger. It's pretty cool, and I've already made lots of stickers - like prank stuff for guys at work.
First project was the wing...

The wing looks awesome mate!
Not too sure about the camo green on the outside of the car. Definitely go the camo look in the engine bay as you've done though. Of course, personal preference, and I'm sure many people will say they won't like the new look of my car, but only you have to be happy
