2009 XP Discussion
I have sent a request to the SEB to get a formal decision on the vents in my front fenders. The vents will be a bit of a pain to cover up in a manner that meets my taste and there seems to be mixed opinions on whether they are legal or not even between PAC members. At Solo speeds, I personally do not see the problem with them being an unfair advantage and XP after all is a very mod friendly class so why not allow them...
The decision will be in one of the coming FasTrack newsletters, and I will post the result once I see it.

When they had all the SM proposals out last summer/fall I sent my letter in 4 times, including member # and such, and never got a reply. I even started the letter with PLEASE REPLY WITH LOG #. . .
nothing. . .
nothing. . .
That stinks. Looks like things have gotten better this year with those who handle the requests...
Brian Harmer has been hired to do this, and he is on the ball. Do not defeat yourself by assuming it wont work...the committee's want to hear from the membership...the process works very well right now.
then that's it, you'll never hear about your letter again.
we helped mark berry with his build in a lot of areas, and gave a lot of advise towards the build.
one way to loose weight is in the hood
my friend alejandro can make you the lightest hood ever made for the evo
5 pounds
mark runs one on his car.
other then that, a road race car an an XP preped autocross are car not going to have anything in common. mark cut the door panels out completely so its just a skin, and if you take your cage out in addition to something like that it would be suicide on the track. tiny brakes like evolutionary said to save weight. small wheels, even eliminate the parking brake in the rear. small fuel cell, stock intercooler, ultralight clutch, a knife edged crank thats balanced would greatly help rev/decel speed. basically make the thing as light as humanly possible.
