Did they do away with that? I thought last year the seats/bracket had to weight at least 20 pounds in SP/SM, and 25# in ST?? Maybe I'm mistaken . . .

I remember people talking about ballasting their seats up to meet the limits.

*edit* my bad - just read the 2009 rules and they did away with the weight limits. . .

Yes, congrats are in order. Amazing results for a first year build! Great car prep and great driving for sure. For those who have not seen the results - Craig would have won by about a hundredth of a second if not for 1 pesky cone that jumped out in front of him. Seems to be the pattern in BSP - clean wins. Last year Aaron Miller had the raw times to win but coned it away I believe.

Once again - congrats on the great showing with the new car this year and I hope you stick with the EVO and go for the gold again in 2010!!! It's gotta be more fun than a Mini!

Oh man - got to hate it when that happens.

But then one also must consider that hitting that cone is what shaved off that last 1 or 2 hundredths of a second and going around it would have taken just that much longer...

Actually, it was my first run that lost it for me. Coming around that final 90 degree turn to the left, my rear end oversteered a bit on corner entry and it put me to the outside wall, I settled it, then throttled back in and kicked the reared out on throttle and punted the outside wall. I think I have it on video too. That run, if clean, would have given me a .4 win I think, but, I wasn't clean, so, that is that. Tom was clean and ran exactly what he needed to run to win, so, a huge congrats to him for getting it done under huge pressure!!! I can tell him though that it sucks to be on the other side. lol

Either way though, I am extremely pleased with this year, my goal was to be close to Tom "The King" Berry for my first year and I was able to do that.

Anyway, thanks to all who gave me input here on the forum, without the input of you all and the help from the sponsors, there is no way I could have been close.

Thanks!

Congrats to you guys as well for the very strong showing in SM!

It was a very exciting Nationals, I cannot see myself jumping back into a Mini any time soon(although, they do have a 2 seater Mini possibly coming out that might be my daily driver). The Evo has definitely been the best Autox car I have ever driven by a long shot! Congrats to Berry for 2009! Hopefully in 2010 I can be in the hunt once again with the other excellent BSP competitors that made it so much fun!!!

Ah HAH! Craig's secret forum ID has been outed! And here I've been answering tech questions for you since the begining of this year, despite my hesitancy to answer questions directly from "craig wilcox". sneaky.

I was quite impressed with your driving though. Certainly getting 11/10ths out of that car.

For some reason, I was entered in my 06 Mini Cooper S during pre-registration so I made the changes at registration, including changing my tires to Hoosiers. Not sure why they are reporting Yoko's. I actually emailed them as well after the event telling them the results needed to be corrected. I sure hope it doesn't affect my contingency! Otherwise, I might be forced to start next season on my Yokohama AD07 street tires.

If you don't mind me asking, what fuel are you using and what kind of numbers is the car putting out. I know out here in the SF Bay Area there's a huge push to e85 for BSP.
