This is the cheapest decent one we use on our motorcycles, not sure what is popular for cars:

Yes, you can get a HOTLAP system.

With that said, comparing a data acquisition system to a lap timer is like comparing an Evo to a muscle car... a traqmate or similar makes a stopwatch obsolete or crude in comparison.

Getting there...

Since my last post I've tried to get my ducks in a row, for this wknd's install w/ Smikeevo....

I've received the following this morning in the mail:

And I've ordered HT-10 brake pads plus Technifit SS Brake Lines for all for corners.

I've also ordered Shifter cable bushings:

http://speed-source.net/products/shifter_cable.htm

(my short shifter has shifter base bushings already)

I just need to pick up the Upper pivot cup (part # MR246296 Retainer+gearshift) and part # MR232147 tiny cups for ball ends. That should get all my short shifter stuff in order.

On Tuesday my car goes into the TheShopCT.com for front sway bar install (PIA to do myself, I'll do the rear with Smikeevo) and to fix my wideband LC1.

Should be good!

I know Smike got his from HotLapMotorsports and also wrote up a how-to install for the front and rear. Do a quick search and you should find them. I have them bookmarked on my home computer as this is something I should do soon.

Be careful taking off your seat belt with the CG lock the first couple times, I put a gash in my steering wheel the first time I used it at the track

If Smike is helping you out you should be fine

Smike has 4-pt harness, no CG-lock, so perhaps I'll still be careful, but thanks for the tip.

More goodies arriving (Speed Source under hood cable bushings):

And while I want to investigate ECU-based boost more to make my own decision on if it is better than a MBC, I'm not ready to go that route just yet.

I TOTALLY FORGOT to order a MBC during all this back and forth on ECU vs. MBC boost control, but thanks to BoostController.com being based out of western NY, they can get me a Joe P. XZ MBC by Friday with regular UPS ground.

I've read they are tried and true, so again...I'm psyched for this wknd!

Should be fun. Probably turn into an all night build. Will need caffeine (and lots of it).

I guess I should post in here instead of always PMing you haha. You'll love the CG lock! One of the coolest "little" mods that I've done so far.
